The company was floated on the stock exchange in 2001. The current shareholders are the German State of Hesse (31.62 per cent), Stadtwerke Frankfurt am Main Holding GmbH (20.19 per cent), Deutsche Lufthansa (9.96 per cent), Julius Bär Investment Management New York (5.1 per cent), Capital Group (4.7 per cent), and Artisan Partners (3.88 per cent). 24.55 per cent of the shares are held by private or institutional investors. As a full-service provider in airport management, Fraport AG is active worldwide at numerous locations.
